Why should I purchase from Aria Double Reeds?

Because we are professional double reed players, we have a deep understanding of our products and can proudly stand by them. All of our products are regularly assessed by us, so you are guaranteed to receive the highest quality instrument or accessory. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a budding student, we are delighted to assist you in your path to musical excellence!

Can I visit you to see or try products in person?

We love working with our customers in person! Please contact us by phone or email to set up an appointment. If you live close enough to come to our location you are welcome to try as many of our instruments as you’d like!

How do I choose an instrument?

We realize buying an instrument can be daunting, so we are happy to assist you! We will speak with you to learn where you are in your musical career, and make recommendations based on your ability, playing style, and potential future with an instrument.

When deciding on an instrument, we recommend testing it out in a variety of environments and with varying factors. Play it in different sized rooms, with good reeds and not-so-good reeds, by yourself and with others if possible. And if you are working with a private teacher, we definitely recommend bringing the instrument to your lesson. A great instrument will make you sound like the best version of yourself!

I have an instrument to ship to you. What’s the safest way to package it?

We understand shipping a valuable instrument can cause some anxiety! But if packaged the right way there’s no need to worry. We recommend finding a very sturdy box and filling it with bubble wrap, paper, or even towels to provide extra padding. You don’t want there to be any space inside the box for the instrument to move around. Also be sure that the instrument itself is packaged correctly inside its case. If the joints of the instrument have any wiggle room then use pieces of foam or something else soft to keep them in place. We recommend using UPS to ship instruments, and always be sure to require a signature upon delivery so instruments are never left outside.

Can I have an instrument on trial?

Yes! In fact, we recommend our customers take an instrument on trial before making a final decision to purchase. Our trial periods are five to seven days to give you ample time with the instrument and take it to your private teacher for a second opinion. Visit this page to view our trial policies.

Can I trial any accessories?

We are happy to allow our customers to have bassoon bocals on trial, but trials are not available for other accessories. Trial policies for bocals are the same as our instrument trial policies and can be found here.

Can I sell my instrument through you?

We would love the opportunity to sell your instrument for you! Please visit our Consign With Us page for more info.

Do you offer trade-in value for my instrument?

We offer trade in services for instruments on a case by case basis. Please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.

What is your warranty/return policy?

Fox Products offers a one year warranty on any factory defects for new instruments. Fox also offers a free warranty servicing of your instrument within your first year of ownership.  If you purchase a new Fox instrument, we recommend sending it to them just before it’s first birthday to take advantage of this free service. Howarth of London also offers a one-year warranty on new instruments.

We do not offer a warranty on any other products and all sales are final. However, we stand proudly by our products and work hard to ensure that we only offer the highest quality instruments and accessories. If you are not 100% satisfied with a product you purchased from us please contact us so we can do our best to remedy the situation.

Do you ship outside of the US?

Yes! We don’t typically offer trials outside of the US, but if this is something you are interested in please ask and we will see what might be possible.
